3 Simple DIYs That Everyone Should Know

1.  Glider (Plane)

You Will Need:

Coloured Card (You can use white card but it looks better)
1 Wooden Skewer
Some Cardboardf
Some Modelling Clay (About 20g will be fine)


Step 1

Cut out some coloured card wings with scissors.  Make the first one 20cm long and the second one 15cm long.  These are just rough measures but you can make this as big or small as you want.

Step 2

With sellotape, stick the wings on to the skewer.  You can use the coloured card, but if you don't have any you could paint it.




    Step 3

Now you can add the modelling clay at the front so the wind doesn't blow it away.







2.  Rubber Band Car

You Will Need:


Step 1:

Make a frame for the car like this:


Use Straws and Popsicle Sticks.

Step 2:

Add in wooden rods.


Step 3:

Put bottle caps on the rods; these are the wheels.

Step 4:

Add rods to the places below:


Step 5:

Add black tape on the wheels.  This is not for looks.  It will make the car go faster.  The add a rubber band.  Wind up your car and let go!




3.  Car  (2)


You Will Need:

3 Wooden Rods
Plastic Sheet
Cardboard Sheet
2 Straws
4 Bottle Caps


Step 1:

Get the cardboard sheet and stick the straws on.



Step 2

Now add the wooden rods into the straws.  These are the axels.  Then attach the wheels.



Step 3:

Then add a lolly stick to the top and for extra support, add a cardboard beam.



Step 4:

Add a sail to the lolly stick.

Now, on a windy day, your car will move up to 20 mph!
