 Internazzionalle and Danish footballer Christian Eriksen collapsed shortly before half-time in Dennmarks opening Euro 2020 game against Finland. He had to be resuscitaded on the pitch and when he awoke in hospital he was fine and aware of what had happened, Eriksen thanked all his supporters around the globe and will not be playing in the rest of the Euros, he said that he will cheer on his Danish friends for the rest of the tournemant and will hope for the best fo his county and team-mates. The former Tottenham midfielder experienced a cardiac arrest and is now in a stable position in the Copenhagan hospital. The amazing midfielder said, " Big thanks for you sweet and amazing greetings and messages from all around the world, it means alot to me and my family.   What has your personal experience of COVID 19 been? As a doctor working in the NHS, it has been an extremely difficult time for our entire team. We have had to make several changes within a short time frame in our working pattern. Due to redeployment, the majority of the NHS staff have been working on unique rotas and within unfamiliar work situations. It has been overwhelming to see the increased admission rate and heart-breaking to learn about the death rates within different NHS Trusts. What is your opinion on the handling of the pandemic?   Mucormycosis, also known as black fungus, has been common in countries like India even prior to the COVID pandemic. Black fungus is closely linked to diabetes which is common in south-east Asian countries especially India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Following recovery from COVID, the immune system is further weakened. If the patient also suffers from diabetes, the risk of obtainig black fungus in increased. This fungus mainly infects the eyes and facial structures, resulting in loss of vision in severe cases. There has been a shortage of anti-fungal medication used to treat this infection in countries with the highest incidence. Recent data shows that there have been recommendations to start vaccinating children over the age of 12 years.   Matt Hancock, health secretary, announces that under 30s will now be offered a Covid vaccine in just a fewdays. He says that doing so, they'll make ‘big strides’ towards the goal for vaccinating all adults in the country. More than three quarters of UK adults have received their first jab of COVID-19 vaccine. Matt Hancock also says that there are many reasons to make children eligible to a covid vaccine jab to help stop the spread.   An experiment called ‘Project S’ changes a small city in Serrana, Brazil. Four months after the launch of the experiment the atmosphere had changed to a pre-pandemic one. According to the study, the immunisation created an ‘immune belt’ in Serrana which drastically reduced the transmission of the virus and thus reduced both catching the virus and deaths from it. This project brings hope to reduce the virus's impact in Brazil as it is the second most affected country in the world from the virus.

In the U.K, the Indian variant of covid 19 is now the dominant variant as there are over twelve thousand cases. It is the total but, there is likely going to be more cases. It is said to spread quicker than other variants like the kent variant. The affected people are more likely to require hospitalisation from the variant scientists are calling the Delta variant. Unfortunately, all of that information is based on quick analysis and hasn't had time to be proven or disregarded. Unfortunately, that could all change. The most affected areas are in the northwest of England, with two hundred positive cases or more. PHE, (Public Health England) took the numbers and found that there are some areas with no data of the delta variant at all. There are also other heavily affected areas such as Bolton. As the covid 19 vaccines are given to people, lockdown rules can ease and the country can return to normality again. It includes holidays abroad, seeing family you haven't seen for a long time watch a movie in a cinema or go to a restaurant and have a social dinner. This means that you can see your family or friends inside and not just outside. This means that you can meet up with more than one household other than your own unless you are isolating. Another topic that is spoken about is holidays, there are specific travel corridors, (this means that if you come from Iceland for example, you won’t have to isolate unless the test you do is positive). There are three tiers for travelling, red, amber and green. Red and amber mean that you have to take a test before the flight, book a quarantine hotel package which includes two covid 19 tests and complete a passenger locator form in case a test and trace finding shows that you have been in contact with someone who tested positive. As the U.K is returning to normal after the lengthy lockdowns, people are happy to be able to see loved ones again that couldn't be seen during the lockdowns because of the rules in place. During these lockdowns, a fair amount of young people felt lonely because they couldn't see their family or friends. It could be a starting point for young people to get depression and feel down and not want to do anything because they miss loved ones. This can sometimes mean that all they wanted to do was see them, but they couldn't. Depression is a very unpleasant feeling as you could also want to be lazy and not put any effort into the things that you do. It could also make you very anxious or worried about little things because you are just thinking about it alone. One major thing that could give you depression is if a loved one died from coronavirus. As the number of people in the U.K that are vaccinated continues to grow hastily, the U.K is closer to returning to normality again. It is good because it means that the U.K is further than another national lockdown that broke the economy. The numbers of vaccinations in the U.K. is over half the population, including children, for first doses and almost forty per cent of the whole population having had their second doses. In the U.K, ninety-four per hundred people are given a vaccine. The country with the highest amount of doses per hundred people is Malta which administers a hundred and twelve doses per hundred people.
