Author of Famous Book dies at 91
Eric Carle, the author of the children’s book The Very
Hungry caterpillar, had died at the age of 91. The family said he died on
Sunday at his summer studio in Northampton, Massachusetts. The book, published
in 1969 was welcomed by parents and kids with its fun but also educational
storyline. It has sold more than 50 million times. The story - which is only
224 words long – has also been translated into 62 languages. The author’s son
has said Eric died of kidney failure. It
is a loss that will make many, many people very sad.
