Indian Variant of Covid 19 is now dominant
In the U.K, the Indian variant of covid 19 is now the dominant variant as there are over twelve thousand cases. It is the total but, there is likely going to be more cases. It is said to spread quicker than other variants like the kent variant. The affected people are more likely to require hospitalisation from the variant scientists are calling the Delta variant. Unfortunately, all of that information is based on quick analysis and hasn't had time to be proven or disregarded. Unfortunately, that could all change. The most affected areas are in the northwest of England, with two hundred positive cases or more. PHE, (Public Health England) took the numbers and found that there are some areas with no data of the delta variant at all. There are also other heavily affected areas such as Bolton. Most of the country has less than hen cases per area but it varies a lot as people travel around having the virus unknowingly. Currently, there is a large cluster of high cases in the northwest of England around Blackburn and Darwen. There is another smaller cluster of medium to high case areas around Bedford where there are over two hundred positive cases per one hundred thousand people. Comparing this to older figures in January, it doesn't seem like a lot but, because the vaccines are being rolled out, it is quite a high number. It is very high cases compared to the wanted, zero.
